Blonde On Blonde
Established in Australia's Fortitude Valley in 2008, Blonde on Blonde are a dynamic five-piece consisting of friends drawn together by a love of music, Jack Daniels and the burning desire to quit their day jobs. After uploading demos onto their MySpace page and garnering worldwide attention for their debut track "Oh My Oh My," The Blondes decided to temporarily withdraw from the debauchery of the Brisbane Valley, save their boozing money and make a record. Ably assisted by Brisbane legend Dave Atkins (Resin Dogs, Wolfmother), the group entered the studio to record their debut EP. Many months of mixing and mastering later, Blonde on Blonde unleashed the eagerly anticipated EP, Tease, upon the world. The EP received rave reviews from street press and online blogs including whothehell.net, and Time Off magazine, beating out other artists Weezer and Jay-Z to take out the "Single of the week" spot. The release was added to high rotation on local Brisbane radio station 4ZZZ, and reached the No. 1 spot on the top 20 charts, two weeks in a row.
Momentum continued to build for the band chalked up more wins by playing with Wolfmother, Sugar Army, The Art, and an east coast tour with Dead Letter Circus. The band has also graced the cover of "Brisbane News," labeled as one of the cities Next big things.
