Crystal Kid
For Frank and Charles Torrealba the answer was crystal clear. After spending their lives on the move and witnessing the ability of music to make people feel good, the brothers formed Crystal Kid. Influenced by pop-giants such as U2 and Oasis, it's still that personal experience that drives the vibrant, uptempo rhythms that define Crystal Kid. Rhythms that the Canadian music scene is beginning to take notice of and have given them the opportunity to play with great artists like Three Days Grace, Seether, My Darkest Days, Daniel Wesley, Rival Sons, as well as performances at Calgary's Sled Island Music Festival, Boonstock 2011 and Canadian Music Week in Toronto. Crystal Kid have been performing live over three years now and most recently won a $25,000 performance grant at Calgary's AMP 90.3 FM Rock Star Finale for a second time in a row (2010 and 2011). Winning that grant represented the end of one chapter of their story, and the beginning of another. So it was appropriate that the band immediately put the prize money toward the recording of The End of the Beginning, the follow up to their critically acclaimed self-titled EP. The album is a rush of sex, love and rebellion that was produced by Rick Mizzoni, Daron Schofield and Crystal Kid. www.crystal-kid.com |
