Erik Hassle
Hailing from Katrineholm, Sweden, is 21 year old singer and composer, Erik Hassle. After falling in love with the sounds of Wilson Pickett at the age of 5, Hassle realized he was meant to create music and went on to study music at Rytmus school in Stockholm at the age of 15. However, prior to that, at the ripe age of 10, Hassle was "discovered" at a school concert by a songwriter and two producers who would later go on to collaborate with him on his debut album, for which Hassle claims the songs were recorded from the ages 17 to 20 in ten different studios. Hassle signed with Swedish label, Roxy Recordings in 2008 and went on to sign internationally in 2009 with Island Records and Universal Republic. Not only has Hassle been consistently referred to as a hot new artist in various news outlets, he was nominated for three 2009 Swedish Grammis and went on to win "Newcomer of the Year." He’s also currently building a following with the cover songs that he has posted on YouTube. He’s received thousands of hits on his YouTube page for his interpretations of songs by Peter Gabriel, Robyn, Johnny Cash, Metallica, La Roux, The Strokes, Bob Marley and Rihanna. Hassle is currently on the road in the Europe supporting Mika and is firming up plans to visit the states in April. Although his debut album, Hassle, isn’t available in the U.S. just yet, the lead single “Hurtful” is already winning over radio stations. Stations who are fans include Sirius/XM (The Pulse), Last FM, WTMX Chicago, WAYV Atlantic City, WXMA Louisville, KSCF San Diego, KPEK Albuquerque, KLLY Bakersfield, KUCD Honolulu, WCDA Lexington and WXXL Orlando.
