Scouting For Girls
Formed in 2005, London's own Scouting For Girls consists of Roy Stride, Greg Churchouse and Peter Ellard. The band based their name off of the Scouting for Boys handbook written in 1908 stating the principles of scouting and giving instructions to younger men on good citizenship. In 2007 Scouting For Girls signed with Epic (UK) and released their first EP, It's Not About You. The first single, "She's So Lovely," spent six weeks in the Top 10 UK charts as well as the UK Download Charts and is the highest charting limited edition EP in chart history. The debut album from Scouting For Girls has sold over 850,000 copies and reached No. 1 for two weeks in the UK. The band started writing their next album and before it was recorded, it was trashed and started over again from scratch. Roy Stride stated, "I just wanted to write the perfect pop song. We are perfectionists!" Well the hard work has paid off and Scouting For Girls just finished recording their second album, Everybody Wants to Be on TV, which was produced by Andy Green, who's known for his work with Keane, KT Tunstall and Scouting For Girls' double platinum UK debut album. The lead single, "This Ain't A Love Song" quickly became a No. 1 hit in the UK and has crossed over to the US with early support from Sirius Satellite Radio's Hits-1 station, which has logged over 500 spins to date. The same track has also become a top 20 hit in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and Europe.
