Sketch Williams
Canadian-born Sketch Williams combines classical, soulful sounds with hip-hop beats, delivering consistent hooks with a lyrical story-telling flow. His first album, Moonlit Tunnel which was released in 2006 was a massive debut in Canada, receiving praise from the press. His sophomore effort, City In the Clouds, released last year contained the Canadian hit “Girl With A Pretty Name,” which received radio support and helped increase his fan base, crossing over to parts in the U.S. In his early twenties, Sketch has already had many things to be proud of; he was accepted at Berklee College of Music, Boston, MA, his music was featured in the movie Hybrid, for the Sci-Fi Channel and he even had a brief acting career with his role in Falcon Beach, the Canadian television teen drama, similar in the style to The O.C. He believes in the importance of putting out a performance and sound that are enjoyable to a wide range of audiences which is demonstrated through his versatility. Sketch has recently returned to the studio full time and is now putting the finishing touches on a brand new EP. The first offering from the release is “Wendy’s Song.” This eerie song shows the vulnerability of Sketch and musically could be compared to OneRepublic’s “Apologize.”
