Legendary music executive Seymour Stein, who co-founded Sire Records with Richard Gottehrer in 1967, will maintain his role as Chairman.

Rani Hancock said, “I’ve always been inspired by Sire's roster of artists and the label’s fearless, independent spirit. So many great Sire artists have pushed the boundaries of music and fashion, while having pop hits that appeal to a mainstream audience, from Madonna to the Ramones, from Talking Heads to The Pretenders. I hope to continue that tradition of finding and supporting culture-changing artists who make hugely popular music that withstands the test of time. I'm very thankful to be setting out on that mission with amazing support from Max [Lousada], Cameron [Strang] and Seymour. It’s such an exciting time to be joining WMG, especially with Max’s vision for evolving the concept of a modern, artist-centric music company.”

We are celebrating Sire's 50th anniversary, our 40th with Warner Music, and my 60th year in the music business. It has been my dream to be joined by someone I can work together with to help strengthen and expand the label. Shayna Leigh is one of N. America’s brightest new starts who evokes the musical aesthetic and inspiration of a modern day Alanis Morissette melded with the on-stagepop energy of Katy Perry. Influenced not only by contemporary hitmakers but also ageless greats like The Beatles, Carole King and Laura Nyro, she spent years writing, recording and performing, searching for the sound that best defined her own artistry. In the summer of 2015, Shayna released her debut album Drive on S-Curve Records/UMG. The album includes ten tracks produced and co-written by multi-Platinum and multi-Grammy Award-winning record producer/mixer Michael Mangini (Joss Stone, Diane Birch) and Emmy Award-winning, multi-Platinum songwriter and producer Peter Zizzo (Avril Lavigne, Vanessa Carlton). She has since returned with new music and the first offering from her upcoming EP with “Candle.” Shayna recently wrapped up a supporting slot for Lee DeWyze of American Idol on tour, performed a number of shows across the U.S. and UK and has opened for the likes of Howie Day and Sister Hazel. Her own commitment to promoting self-love extends beyond music, to organizations such as the American Foundation for Suicided Prevention, for whom she performed for at a New York City fundraising event. Ethan Barnett, a 20 year old singer/songwriter based in Hertford, best known to his fans under the stage name Ten Tonnes, made a lot of noise with his self-release 2016 EP Lucy. The title track earned BBC Radio 1 airplay support and continued to open doors for him as he performed at both Reading and Leeds Festivals on the BBC Introducing stage, in addition to receiving support from Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, Radio X and KCRW. In March he showcased at SXSW followed by the release of his sophomore EP Born To Lose (Warner Brothers) in June. The new EP was produced by Hugo White (Maccabees, Matt Maltese) and mixed by Cenzo Townshend (U2, Florence + The Machine, Snow Patrol) featuring the singles “Silver Heat” and “Born To Lose,” which earned strong support from Huw Stephens, Mistajam and Phil Taggart at Radio 1, Jo Whiley at Radio 2, Steve Lamacq at 6 Music and added to the playlist at Radio X. Ten Tonnes is signed to Warner Brothers, published by BMG and represented by Matt Bates at Primary.
