The fourth edition of the Global Rock Summit (www.globalrocksummit.com) returns to Burbank, CA from March 24 – 25, 2022. The Global Rock Summit joins a week–long series of events that includes MUSEXPO Creative Summit, Global Sync Summit, and International Songwriting Summit, all coinciding as part of California Entertainment Week, and taking place March 20 – 25th, 2022.
Global Rock Summit will bring together key facets of the US and international rock communities including record labels, music publishers, agents, festival promoters, brands, media, digital, distribution, management, radio, music supervisors, showcase talent and more. The event will host key seminars, keynotes, panels and presentations throughout the day, followed by artist showcases in the evening, which will be held at SIR Studios in Hollywood.
The Global Rock Summit will include the presentation of its first ever “International Rock Icon of The Year” award and the inaugural “Global Rock Awards” during a special VIP Awards Ceremony on Thursday, March 24th at the official Global Rock Summit Opening Night Wine & Cocktails Networking Reception. The event will pay special tribute and host an honorarium awards event for legendary DJ, multimedia personality and A&R executive Matt Pinfield, as its first-ever “International Rock Icon of The Year.” Pinfield’s work has transcended across radio, TV, satellite/digital media, print and various other pop cultural platforms. He’s also interviewed over 1000 artists including some of the most prominent names in alternative, rock and other music genres, from the likes of Nirvana, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, U2, Coldplay, Jay-Z, Pink Floyd, Aerosmith, Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters to name but just a few.

Warner Chappell Music (WCM) recently announced that Natascha Augustin has been promoted to Vice President of WCM Germany. She will continue to report into Lars Karlsson, Managing Director, Warner Chappell Music Scandinavia and Germany. She will be based between Munich and Berlin, where she has opened up WCM’s new office and will run its new creative hub.
Augustin, who previously held the role of Sr. Creative Director, has been a key player in the rise of Germany’s rap and hip-hop scene and has made WCM Germany the favored publisher for artists and songwriters. Her work has been major factor in WCM Germany holding the number one domestic publisher spot for the last three years running.
Natascha Augustin said, “I’m honored to be taking on this wider role at Warner Chappell Music. We’ve enjoyed some incredible few years as we’ve continued to raise our game and hold onto the number one domestic publisher spot. Augustin has signed and developed a number of Germany’s top rap stars including Capital Bra (the most streamed artist in Germany of all time), 187 Strassenbande, Apache 207, Bausa, Bozza, Farid Bang, Jamule, Juju, Kalim, Luciano, Makko, Nimo, Reezy, and Summer Cem, t.low. Also, producers such as Miksu & Macloud, Juhdee & Yung Mesh, Ghana & Geenaro, and genre defining pop and dance writers M22, Tom Gregory and Felix Jaehn.


Last week, BMG announced that it had acquired the entire recorded catalog of iconic rock band Mötley Crüe. The deal is BMG’s largest single catalog acquisition since the company was founded in 2008. The agreement includes the iconic band’s entire recorded output spanning their 40-year career totaling nine studio albums from their 1981 debut Too Fast For Love through the latest release in 2008 Saints of Los Angeles, as well as several Platinum-selling live albums and compilation sets.
It comes as the band are on a new high after Netflix biopic The Dirt converted a new generation of fans with an astonishing 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes for the ‘warts‘n’ all’ movie.

In a statement from the group, Mötley Crüe said, “It feels amazing to be collaborating with our new partners at BMG. Their extensive track record of success in Rock made them the perfect home to continue preserving and growing our musical legacy, ensuring we always stay at The Top.”

Allen Kovac, manager Mötley Crüe, said, “After working side by side with BMG for well over a decade, the relationship we have developed and success we’ve accomplished over the years made this a very easy transition to entrust with this treasured Rock catalog. Working with BMG in any capacity, whether that’s publishing or records, has always been a great experience.”

In June 2022, Mötley Crüe will kick off their previously postponed (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) 30+ date headlining US stadium tour, marking the group’s return to the stage for their first major concert run since 2015. Working closely with the band and its management, BMG’s global catalog team will embark on its plan to re-promote the band’s work beginning in 2022.

Formed in January 1981 and hailing from the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, CA, the quartet of Vince Neil (lead vocals), Mick Mars (guitars), Nikki Sixx (bass), and Tommy Lee (drums) has commandeered the rock pantheon for four decades.

Together, Mötley Crüe have sold over 100 million albums worldwide with seven Platinum and multi-Platinum albums, nine Top 10 albums, 22 Top 40 Mainstream Rock hits, six Top 20 Pop singles, three Grammy nominations, a New York Times best-seller, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Last week, Interscope Geffen A&M has announced the promotion of Matt Morris to the position of Senior Vice President of A&R at the label. Morris will continue to sign and develop artists for the company as well as oversee the company’s A&R Research department.
Morris is credited with signing global breakout star Olivia Rodrigo to Geffen Records along with his colleagues Sam Riback Executive Vice President, Co-Head A&R and fellow A&R, executive Emerson Redd. He also was instrumental in bringing Kali Uchis to Interscope in 2017. The singer recently had a Platinum No.1 Latin single with “Telepatía” from her Spanish language album Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios). Morris works closely with both artists.

“Matt has been a vital part of the Interscope family for a decade now and has helped to build our A&R Research department into one of the best in the industry,” said Riback. “Beyond that, Matt has become a truly well-rounded A&R executive, as adept at identifying new artists as he is signing them and guiding them through the recording process. He is very deserving of this expanded role at the company.”

Morris, who grew up in West Virginia, started in music as a blogger when he was in college, joined Interscope’s A&R department as an intern in 2011. He went on to serve as a digital marketing manager for several years before returning to A&R in 2015.

“I’ve grown so much as a person and executive over the past decade at Interscope,” Morris said. “I’m really grateful for John Janick and Sam’s guidance over the years and their continued support. We share a common vision of identifying generational artists who go against the grain and shape culture. My goal has always been to help artists at the highest level, and to get to do that at the most forward-thinking record label in the world is an honor. I couldn’t be more excited for this next step.”

NO MORE GUESSING, IT’S OFFICIAL: Berlin, Germany-based Guesstimate Publishing tell A&R Worldwide that it has secured the high-profile signing of LIZOT, which is the alter ego of German producer Max Kleinschmidt who founded the project in 2015. Since then, LIZOT has been signed to the NITRON music label (a division of Sony Music Entertainment). LIZOT’s first big success was the single, “Sonnenmädchen” which went straight into the German charts. At the end of 2019, he released the single “Menage A Trois” with Holy Molly, which became a worldwide dance hit, and has garnered over 40 million streams to date. In 2020, LIZOT achieved his international breakthrough with the single, “Weekend,” which racked-up over100 million streams, 30 million YouTube views, secured double-Platinum in Poland, Platinum in Norway and Hungary, Gold in Germany, Sweden, Austria and Switzerland. He’s also secured over 45 million streams for the single “Like A Prayer.” The new signing with Guesstimate was secured by Ann-Sophie Ballé, A&R Manager Guesstimate and Jens-Markus Wegener, Director Publishing bei Guesstimate.

NOT SO MELLOW PUBLISHING DEAL: Downtown Music Services has announced a global music publishing administration agreement with multi-media artist and musician MELO-X (real name Sean Rhoden). MELO-X is based between New York City and Los Angeles, and his work includes projects that range from music remixes, album collaborations, set design, DJ’ing and film scores/composition. He also incorporates visual elements such as creative direction, photography, and installations. He’s worked with artists including Beyoncé, Jesse Boykins III, Hugo McCloud, Jay-Z, Melina Matsoukas, Lena Waithe, Ari Lennox, SYD, Maxwell, Kelly Rowland, Yuna, Chloe Bailey, Kalela and Lila Ike. He’s also been involved with creative projects for brands including LVRN, Nike and CAT Footwear. MELO-X has launched new tech innovations including his own interactive music playlist app titled CURATE ALPHA, amongst other entrepreneurial ventures.

GETTING MORE CREATIVE: Creative Artists Agency (CAA) has unveiled the elevation of Jeff Krones as Co-Head of its Nashville, TN division – his clients include Twenty One Pilots, Brett Young, Dan + Shay, NEEDTOBREATHE, and NF. In addition, CAA has promoted Bruno Del Granado to oversee its Latin Music touring division – he represents clients such as Gloria Estefan, Maluma, Luis Fonsi, Danny Paola, Becky G and others. The recent promotions were announced by Rob Light, Head of Music, who said the appointments of “two superbly talented new leaders attest to the tremendous momentum CAA is experiencing” across its touring business.

IT’S A WIN WIN: The Worldwide Independent Network (WIN), the global coordination and support body for the independent music sector, is celebrating its 15th anniversary and has carried out a strategic restructure to drive efficiency and streamline its operations. WIN has announced that Noemí Planas will lead its operations as General Manager, stepping up from her previous role as Network Development Director. She brings more than 20 years of experience in various areas of the independent industry, having worked for a record label, directed her own publishing company, managed the Spanish independent music trade association UFI, and served as a director on IMPALA’s board for eight years. Also, Denis Simms has stepped into a new role as Membership & Projects Manager to implement WIN’s ongoing support program, oversee market research and coordinate other global projects and initiatives. Simms joined WIN in 2019, with a background in independent label and artist management. A new part-time communications position has also been created at WIN.

RARE BEATLES AUDIO GOES NFT: Historic audio interviews of The Beatles - John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr - will be auctioned to the highest bidders as digital NFT files effective today, Monday, December 6 - these interviews have not been heard in decades. The auction represents the first time ever that NFTs of rock music icon interviews are being offered to the general public. The announcements were made today by Jonathan Firstenberg, Managing Director of the Voices of Classic Rock Archive (VOCR). The VOCR Archive is home to 650 historic interviews and radio shows featuring virtually every major rock music icon during the period of 1964 to 2008. VOCR executives’ target audience for bidding on The Beatles’ interviews includes virtually anyone of any age, with a special emphasis on the aging “Baby Boomers” who actually grew up with Beatles’ music in their ears every day. VOCR executives are also targeting the various “Gen X,” “Gen Y,” “Millennials,” and “Gen Z,” classes believing many may have inherited from their parents a love for the music of The Beatles - and other classic rock artists - whose music was literally the soundtrack of their childhoods. FADING INTO DISTRIBUTION: New York City-based multi-media company FADER and its independent record arm FADER Label have launched a new distribution arm in association with Virgin Music. Under the partnership, FADER’s team will provide strategic planning and marketing support for artist releases, whilst Virgin’s global team will assist with the artist development resources for the acts. FADER Distribution is currently working with a handful of acts including Slaters, Pauli The PSM, Origami Human, Eddie Burns and Kim Tee who has racked-up over 1.5+ million streams on Spotify and been featured on a number of playlists on the platform. The company says it will be adding broader catalog artists to its distribution eco-system as it continues to expand and evolve on a variety of business fronts. FADER was founded by former EMI label executive Rob Stone and Columbia RecordsJon Cohen almost two decades ago.

KOBALT SIGNS GABRIELS: Kobalt has announced that it has signed Ryan Hope and Jacob Lusk of Gabriels. The worldwide agreement includes publishing administration, including global synch and creative services for all of Gabriels’ catalog and future songs. The Los Angeles-based trio consists of Jacob Lusk, Ryan Hope and Ari Balouzian. They've had breakout performances on Jimmy Kimmel and Jools Holland, and they already sold-out shows across UK and Europe and at The Masonic Temple in Los Angeles early in their career. In addition, the band has received praise from Sir Elton John, who said that their latest single, “Love And Hate In A Different Time,” was “one of the most seminal records I’ve heard in the last ten years.” The deal was brokered with the support of Kobalt executives Alison Donald, Head Of Creative UK and Kenny McGoff, Head Of A&R UK.

THEY JOINED THE F-LIST: London based music company GigRealm, the online platform that provides an end-to-end solution for organizing live music performances, has announced a wide-ranging new partnership with The F-List for Music, the first directory of its kind to feature up-to-date information on UK-based female musicians, songwriters and composers. This new partnership will see GigRealm and The F-List team up to create pathways and opportunities for female musicians in the live music space. The F-List directory and not for profit organisation was created by former BASCA CEO and academic Vick Bain, a long-time advocate and campaigner for equality and diversity in the music industry. The F-List directory grew out of research she undertook in 2019, analysing the gender of the rosters of over 300 UK record labels and publishing companies. Her findings were published in the report ‘Counting the Music Industry’ For the first time, it provided data that demonstrated how few women are supported financially by the music industry, in comparison to men. Using data from that research, The F-List is the first directory of its kind to feature up-to-date information on UK-based female* musicians, songwriters and composers.

A NEW DAY FOR BRAY: ASM Global, the international venue and event management company headquartered in Los Angeles, CA, which specializes in managing stadiums, convention centers, theaters, and unique venues has named Chris Bray, Executive Vice President, European Operations. Bray who is a 30-year veteran in commercial operations, entertainment and strategic development within retail, leisure and hospitality industries will be based in Manchester, England will have oversight for all aspects of ASM’s European business. ASM Global currently operates in eight countries with a strong presence in Germany, UK, and Sweden. ASM Global’s portfolio includes AO Arena in Manchester; Avicii Arena, Tele2 Arena and Friends Arena in Sweden; and Koenig Pilsner Arena in Germany, which will be rebranded as Rudolf Weber Arena in January 2022.

GARNERING NEW STRIPES AS OPERATING CHIEF: Chrysalis Records recently announced the appointment of highly respected veteran music industry executive Alison Wenham as its Chief Operating Officer. With over 40 years of experience working in the music industry, Alison founded and was the CEO/Chairman of UK Trade Association AIM from 1999-2016, building it to become the hugely influential advocate for the independent music sector that it is today. Alison joins the senior team led by Jeremy Lascelles, CEO, Chrysalis Records/Blue Raincoat and Robin Millar, Chairman at a pivotal moment for the company. Since uniting under the Reservoir umbrella in 2019, the business has delivered increasingly impressive results and accelerated growth, including the return of Chrysalis Records as a frontline label with marquee signings Laura Marling, Emeli Sandé, and Liz Phair, among others. In addition, it has bolstered its legacy roster, now housing the iconic Tommy Boy Records catalogue through its label platform and plans to further grow its distribution activities via new label and artist deals. Meanwhile, Blue Raincoat’s publishing and management arms celebrated achievements including signing a global publishing deal with the estate of seminal artist Nick Drake to represent his entire catalogue of songs, publishing breakthrough artist Self Esteem, and overseeing the continued success of management clients Phoebe Bridgers, Cigarettes After Sex, plus emerging acts Nova Twins, and The Mysterines, to name a few. Alison’s expertise and appointment as COO poises the company for new growth opportunities across its label, publishing, and management operations.

TUNING INTO WEST AFRICA: Tuned Global has partnered with well-established streaming app WAW MUZIK in a deal that will advance the company’s plans to deliver a more accessible platform. The new partnership will see WAW MUZIK integrate its own front-end app with Tuned Global’s scalable Streaming Service APIs which will improve the app responsiveness and allow a great user experience regardless of how fast the service grows. Tuned Global will also provide improved management of the entire supply chain to ensure new releases are available quickly with increased security, delivering a catalogue of over 14 million tracks from labels and distributors such as Universal Music Group, Believe, Idol and Keyzit. Under their partnership with mobile operator Orange, WAW MUZIK will continue to function using a subscription model through the telecommunications network to facilitate both mobile money and airtime payments. WAW MUZIK says it aims to offer broader benefits for users, all while supporting the development and enhancing the visibility of African artists and labels. With the app revamp initially relaunching in Côte d’Ivoire, WAW MUZIK expects to expand into wider French-speaking African territories.

THREE SIDES ARE BETTER THAN FOUR: Global independent music publisher Third Side Music (TSM) has announced its new partnership with UK independent label Soundway Records and Soundway Publishing. Having purchased an interest in both companies, Third Side Music is expanding its international footprint as Soundway’s catalog, staff, and ownership group join the TSM team. This also sees TSM entering the master rights business to complement its global music publishing presence. Soundway Records, which was founded in 2002 by English DJ and collector Miles Cleret, is known for its critically-acclaimed rare compilations, and LP re-issues of the most exciting sounds around the globe. Contemporary artists on the roster include Lord Echo, Mauskovic Dance Band, Felbm, Dexter Story, Carlos Nino, Ondatropica, Meridian Brothers, Julien Dyne, Flamingo Pier, among others. Soundway Publishing is also home for the majority of the label’s compositions, artists, songwriters, and composers. TSM was co-founded in 2005 by Patrick Curley and Jeff Waye, who serve as President and COO respectively. The company has amassed a treasure trove of 70,000 titles in its diverse, eclectic catalog, and a roster featuring artists, songwriters, and composers.

ELEVATED AT ASYLUM: Asylum Records recently revealed that Angel Martinez has been appointed Vice President of Marketing. Based in New York, he will report to the label’s Co-Presidents Gabrielle Peluso and Dallas Martin. A marketing expert with twenty years’ experience, Martinez most recently oversaw releases for a handful of heavyweights on Asylum’s roster including, Sada Baby, 1TakeJay, and Seddy Hendrinx, to name a few. Currently, Martinez is developing marketing strategies for emerging acts KenTheMan, DKE Author, Jay Loud, and Landstrip Chip. Prior to joining Asylum Records in 2018 as Director of Marketing, Martinez spent twelve years at G-Unit Records, working with 50 Cent, The Game, Tony Yayo, Lloyd Banks, amongst others. He previously held marketing roles at Sony Music, Def Jam Recordings, and Interscope Records, spearheading album campaigns for Desiigner, 2 Chainz, Jeezy, and Pusha T.

REVVING UP HER RPM: ONErpm has announced the appointment of Jenna LoMonaco as its Head of US Marketing division. LoMonaco brings over 16 years of experience in public relations, marketing and PR to her new role. She began her professional career back in 2005, at the PR and marketing firm Girlie Action overseeing public relations, and then worked at the New York City-based Glassnote Records as the company’s Head of New Media working with some of the labels most prominent acts including Phoenix, Childish Gambino, and Mumford & Sons. In addition, she’s held positions at Kobalt and Island Records, working across digital marketing roles for the companies robust artist roster. As part of her new role at ONErpm, LoMonaco will oversee US marketing, advertising, digital marketing strategies and working with streaming platforms. In addition, she’ll be responsible for the oversight of 25 of the company’s marketing staff in the US, and will spearhead global releases with other ONErpm offices around the world.

ADDING NEW STRIPES AT REPUBLIC: Meg Harkins has been named Sr. Vice President Marketing, Republic Records – the announcement was made last week by Jim Roppo, Co-President at the label. Harkins has been working with Republic Records in a consulting capacity since 2019, and has spearheaded releases from reggaeton icon Daddy Yankee, K-Pop phenomenon’s Twice, (G)I-DLE and Tomorrow X Together, as well EDM act Swedish House Mafia and many others. In her new role, Harkins will continue to run campaigns and oversee marketing strategy for her current repertoire at the label, as well as taking on additional artists for marketing campaigns. Prior to joining Republic Records, Harkins has held marketing positions at Roc Nation, Blue Note, Mercury Records and Capitol Records.

OUT COME THE RIONS: Recent Triple J Unearthed High 2021 winners The Rions have signed a brand-new management deal with UNIFIED Artist Management (Vance Joy, Violent Soho, Tash Sultana, Dashboard Confessional). The Sydney, Australia-based quartet released their brand new single, “Disassociation,” last week, which is released via UNIFIED’s new distribution company Community Music. The band is represented Steve de Wilde who is part of UNIFIED’s artist management team. The quartet will release a brand-new single in 2022, which will coincide with their debut hometown headline performance.

BELIEVING IN THE PHILLIPPINES: Believe, the Paris-based multi-faceted music company recently acquired a stake in Viva Music and Artists Group (VMAG), the Philippines-based company, which is one of the largest labels in South-East Asia. VMAG also works in the realms of sync, publishing, talent management, branding, merchandising and production. Believe has acquired 15% of VMAG, which equates to €23 million ($26+ million USD). The Manila, Phillippines-based firm is run by Viva Holdings, which is home to Viva Records, one of the fastest growing labels in the market in terms of new artists. For more details, click HERE.

COLON TAPPED FOR GLOBAL ROLE: YM&U Group the management company specializing in sports, music, drama, comedy, social media, brand partnerships, eSports, NFT’s and entertainment has promoted Los Angeles-based executive Matt Colon to his new role as Global President Of Music. Colon, who was most recently Managing Director, US Music, will expand his current role overseeing the company’s US music division, and further his role by leading global strategy and integration across the world, developing broader synergy between the US and UK music divisions. In addition, he’ll lead growth strategy for YM&U Group with additional hires and management acquisitions. The company’s artist roster currently includes Travis Barker (in the US), blink-182, Common, Steve Aoki (a long-time client of Colon’s), as well as UK clients Gary Barlow, James Arthur, Years & Years amongst others.

AN OUT OF THIS WORLD POO BEAR: Grammy Award-nominated singer, songwriter, producer, and entrepreneur Poo Bear and NFT production company & creative agency, D.O.M., has unveiled the brand new band Ursa Major, the first-ever animated NFT music group with all original characters, produced by D.O.M.. Ursa Major will travel to Earth all the way from Bear Space (to deliver some out of this world music! The band is composed of four bears — Staynard Othelos (lead singer), Detty (drums), FuzzEE WuzzEE (DJ), and Tun-Tun (guitar) — and will be releasing all original music that is written and produced by Poo Bear and will include features from some of the world’s biggest artists. A PRIMARY PARTNERSHIP: Primary Wave Music has signed a partnership with the estate of the legendary and critically acclaimed R&B singer Teddy Pendergrass. Primary Wave Music has acquired a stake in the singer’s publishing, master recording income stream, and name and likeness in this new partnership with the Pendergrass estate. The publisher will work closely with the estate to ensure Teddy’s legacy and help widen his brand and continue a long-term partnership to manage all assets moving forward. The estate will now have access to Primary Wave’s entire marketing team, digital team, publicity department, branding team, and publishing infrastructure, including licensing and synch opportunities. The multi-million-dollar deal includes some of Teddy’s most significant hits across his incomparable 35+ year career in music. Songs include the Top 5 R&B classics “Love T.K.O.” and “You’re My Latest, My Greatest Inspiration.” The partnership also encompasses several additional songs, including “When Somebody Loves You Back” and “Close the Door” – both off his sophomore album, Life Is a Song Worth Singing. “Close the Door” was released in 1978 and was a massive hit for Pendergrass. Upon release, the song spent two weeks at number one on the R&B chart, went on to be certified gold, and earned Pendergrass his first Grammy nomination in 1979 for “Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.” The song has been sampled over forty times in popular music by everyone from Mary. J. Blige, Keith Murray to 3LW.

AN IVY LEAGUE SIGNING: Melbourne, Australia-based artist WILSN recently signed to Ivy League Records, which is a part of the Mushroom Group – one of Australasia’s leading independent music companies. WILSN is currently published by the regional Native Tongue Music Publishing and ex-Australia by Pulse Music Group, and is managed by Andy Kelly (Winterman & Goldstein) who work with artists that include The Living End, Jet, Something For Kate, The Avalanches, The Rubens, and others. WILSN released her brand new single last week, which is titled, “You Know Better,” which delivers an Amy Winehouse sonic vibe melded with the throwback retro production style of Mark Ronson.

GETTING ELEVATED IN BRAZIL: Leila Oliveira has been promoted to the new role of General Manager of Warner Music Brazil (WMB). In her new role, Oliveira will have oversight of the company’s A&R, marketing and business development functions, and will report to Sergio Affonso, President of Warner Music Brazil. Oliveira has worked at the company since 2013, heading up its business development operations, playing a fundamental part in shifting WMB’s recorded music business to a digital-first model. MOVIN’ UP DOWN UNDER: Melbourne, Australia-based executive Zac Abroms has been promoted to the new role as Australian Label Manager, MNRK Music Group effective immediately. Abroms who has been with the company for the past four years (when it was previously known as eOne Music) will oversee marketing and strategy of MNRK artists in both Australia and New Zealand and help evolve the company’s presence in the region. In addition, he’ll help source new opportunities to activate both label IP and catalog in the Australasian marketplace, as well as streamlining and simplifying the company’s physical and D2C relationships. Formed in 2015, Single By Sunday is a four-piece outfit that combine their raucous guitars and energetic live show with a millennial brashness, while retaining some of the original mid-80s pop/punk attitudes. Sighting the likes of blink-182, The 1975 and My Chemical Romance as influences, their style of melodic pop rock allows them to embrace their passion for including other musical styles and genres, including synth pop, dance and even 80s disco. Their career has experienced many highs so far, including performing at the Vans Warped Tour, supporting Steven Adler of Guns ’n’ Roses at Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles, awarded “Best Emerging International Artist” during Indie Week in Toronto and crowned winners of the Capital FM’s “Ones To Watch” competition. If that wasn’t enough, they headlined ‘First Night’ in Boston, MA, their single “Say That You Love Me” is featured in the Amazon movie The Never List and they’ve been championed by Kevin Jonas Sr. (The Jonas Brothers). Rising star Kristofer Greczula is one of the most exciting Swedish artists to emanate from Scandinavia in years – inspired by Prince, David Bowie, and Freddie Mercury with his own unique touch. Recently, he’s giving the timeless Swedish classic song “Håll mitt hjärta” brand new life. The original track performed by Björn Skifs spent 142 weeks on the Swedish top chart Svensktoppen, many of which were in the No.1 spot. When Kristofer Greczula first listened to the original song, he fell head over heels for its magical pull and clear, strong message. At the same time, he instinctively knew that he could turn it into his own and didn’t hesitate to accept the offer from the song’s creators to record it. The result is an emotional, delicate piano ballad that focuses on the vocals and lyrics, which evolves into a whirling sound of choirs, guitars and depth. Kristofer worked together with producer Oliver Lundström with the goal of honoring all the amazing elements of the original, while still bringing it into the world of Greczula.
