GLENN MENDLINGER NAMED VP REPUBLIC RECORDS
& PRESIDENT IMPERIAL




Republic Records has announced the promotion of Glenn Mendlinger to his new role as Executive VP of Republic Records and President of IMPERIAL, which is a label that was originally launched in 1947 by Lew Chudd. Mendlinger is also a part of the executive team at Republic and works closely with Wendy Goldstein and Jim Roppo, co-Presidents at the major label, as well as Monte and Avery Lipman, co-Founders of Republic.

Mendlinger stated, “I want to thank Monte and Avery for their vision in creating IMPERIAL and for their continued support and leadership. They continue to inspire me to compete at the highest level for our artists every day. When we started this journey 18 months ago IMPERIAL was just an idea that now has sold over 7 million adjusted albums [and over 10 billion streams]. Their leadership, strategic acumen, and adaptability along with their humility make them one of a kind executives and it is an honor to be part of Republic and this team.”

Prior to joining Republic Records and Imperial Records, Mendlinger spent 21 years at Astralwerks, and since 2006 had served as General Manager of the label. Throughout his time at Astralwerks, Mendlinger oversaw releases for Fatboy Slim and The Chemical Brothers, as well as campaigns with David Guetta, Daft Punk and Swedish House Mafia.

In 2014, Mendlinger signed Halsey and has also helped sign and/or worked with artists including Phoenix, Hot Chip, Kraftwerk, Sia, Porter Robinson, AIR, deadmau5, Pet Shop Boys, Empire Of The Sun, B-52’s, as well as the label DFA and others.

Before joining Astralwerks, Mendlinger worked at Virgin Records and East West. In his new position, he will be based and work out of Republic Records’ global headquarters in New York City.


S10 PUBLISHING AND AVEX USA
SIGN RISING JAMAICAN ARTIST & SONGWRITER




S10 Publishing, Brandon Silverstein’s music publishing division, in partnership with Avex USA, announced recently that they have signed Shenseea to a worldwide publishing agreement. The culturally engaged and exciting new artist and songwriter, Shenseea has over 600 million video views, 12 million social media followers and has become a worldwide sensation over the past year for using influences from her native Jamaica to create songs that connect across many genres.
The multi-talented artists joins the quickly expanding S10 Publishing roster, which already boasts a Billboard Hot 100 No.1 with Justin Bieber’s “Peaches” (co-written by S10 Publishing’s Harv) and over 10 billion streams for the songs it publishes, including hits by Justin Bieber, The Kid Laroi, Bad Bunny, Selena Gomez, DJ Snake, Bella Poarch, Anitta, Normani, Skrillex, 24kGoldn, John Legend, Drake, Rihanna, Future, Lil Baby, Juice WRLD, Travis Scott and many more.

Shenseea has collaborated with diverse artists from varied genres, including Kanye West, Megan Thee Stallion, 21 Savage, Sean Paul, Rauw Alejandro, Vybz Kartel, Christina Aguilera, Shaggy, Santigold, Major Lazer, Young Thug, Swae Lee and Masego. Earlier this year, she released her debut album ALPHA, which featured several collaborations, including 21 Savage and dancehall luminaries Beenie Man and Sean Paul, among others.

S10 is a full-service management, music publishing, record label and investment company founded by entertainment executive Brandon Silverstein with offices and studios in Los Angeles and New York and with partnerships with other leading entertainment executives and their companies, including JAY-Z and Ryan Tedder.

S10 is headquartered in its West Hollywood studio facility, Avex House. Silverstein is also known for managing the careers of global pop superstars Normani and Anitta.

Avex USA launched in Los Angeles less than a year ago. Its operations encompass Avex USA Publishing, the music start up investment program Future of Music Investment Fund, and the next-generation record label SELENE.


TIM GLOVER NAMED EXECUTIVE VP A&R
AT INTERSCOPE RECORDS




Interscope Geffen A&M has announced the promotion of Tim Glover to the position of Executive Vice President of A&R at Interscope Records. In his new role, Glover will continue to work with a roster of the label’s world class artists and emerging talent.

Glover joined Interscope in 2014 and since then has worked with Dreamville, including such artists as J. Cole, JID and Ari Lennox. Additionally, he works with the label’s partners LVRN, whose artists include Summer Walker and 6lack. In addition to handling the A&R duties for the acclaimed artist Tierra Whack, Glover works with a roster of more than 20 artists at the label.

“Nicole and John Janick’s ongoing support have empowered me to continue to do my best work on behalf of all of the artists and label partners on my roster,” said Glover. “I’m grateful for this expanded opportunity and look forward to continuing my work with these world-class artists and executives.”

Originally from Philadelphia, Glover began his career in the music business as a college rep for Universal Music Group while he attended Howard University in Washington, DC. From there he had a stint as a field marketing rep at Universal Music Group Distribution, eventually landing a lifestyle marketing gig at Def Jam Recordings. There he created innovative marketing campaigns for artists such as Pusha T, 2 Chainz and Big Sean. But being closer to the creative process was always the goal for Glover, which was realized in 2014 when he landed his first A&R gig at Interscope.


WARNER MUSIC ASIA FORMS STRATEGIC ALLIANCE
WITH LEADING THAILAND INDIE LABEL & UNVEILS SIGNING




Warner Music Asia has that it has formed a strategic alliance with Thailand’s premier independent record company What The Duck by signing Valentina Ploy, one of its most accomplished singer-songwriters. The deal was initiated with the support of Warner Music Asia and Samkwan “Moy” Tonsompong, Managing Director, What The Duck.

This agreement will see Warner Music Asia add the established Bangkok-based star to its roster of prominent singers and will serve to support the What the Duck label in its work to elevate Valentina’s career to new heights. Warner Music will be harnessing the support of Warner Music Thailand (run by Karl Kongkham, Managing Director), to strengthen her domestic fan base and utilizing the Group’s regional network to introduce her work to music lovers throughout Asia and beyond.

Valentina is a singer-songwriter of mixed Italian and Thai parentage who was born and raised in Italy. She first captured the public’s attention when she became a runner-up in Miss Universe Thailand 2018 and grew her fame when she released multiple singles with What the Duck starting from 2019 onwards. She has amassed nearly 40 million streams on Spotify and has charted in Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.

UNIVISION NETWORKS SIGNS GLOBAL ADMIN DEAL WITH
UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP


Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), has announced that Univision Network has been signed to an exclusive, global publishing administration agreement to represent the network’s music catalog. As the largest provider of Spanish-language content in the US, Univision’s music catalog is part of its programming which includes award-winning telenovelas and other drama series, sports, reality and variety shows, news programming, and imported Spanish-language feature films.
Owned by TelevisaUnivision, the network’s most popular primetime series include “Si Nos Dejan,” “La Desalmada,” and “La Piloto” and reality competition shows “Nuestra Belleza Latina,” “Tu Cara me Suena,” and “Mira Quién Baila.” Additionally, Univision is home to major award-winning shows including “Premio Lo Nuestro,” “Premios Juventud,” “Latin GRAMMY®,” and “Despierta América.”
Alexandra Lioutikoff, President of Latin America and US Latin, UMPG said, “Univision is home to a vast catalog of the most iconic themes and songs across the U.S. and Latin America. INTERNATIONAL MUSIC INDUSTRY AWARDS RETURN: The first of its kind A&R Worldwide Awards and International Music Industry Awards, which were first launched in Los Angeles at MUSEXPO back in 2013 are poised to return in 2023, a decade after they first launched. The esteemed awards recognized the work of key executives, creatives and companies that have played a pivotal role in contributing in a meaningful and positive way to the global music business. Previous recipients of the awards have included: Michael Rapino, Chairman & CEO, Live Nation; Sarah Stennett, Co-Founder & CEO, First Access Entertainment; Daniel Glass, President & Founder, Glassnote Ent’t Group; Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music, EA Games; Alexandra Patsavas, Director, Music Creative/Production for Original Series, Netflix (Founder of Chop Shop Music Supervision), the late Steve Strange (Founding Partner, X-Ray Touring), Folkert Koopmans, Founder & CEO, FKP Skorpio (Germany), Triple J (Australia) and many others. SOUNDING OFF TOWARDS MOTOWN: Soundcloud Interim Head of Music, Roberto Caiaffa has been appointed Sr. Vice President, Commercial Marketing at Motown Records. With previous experience working at both Interscope and Def Jam where he worked with artists such as DMX, 2 Chainz, YG, Big Sean, Teyana Taylor and others, Caiaffa will be based in New York where he’ll report to the company’s Executive VP & Chief Operating Officer Alison Finley. The move to Motown marks a return to Universal Music Group for Caiaffa. In his new role, Caiaffa will work with label partners to guide strategy and execution across campaigns that drive commercial results.

ANOTHER SPICY ACQUISITON IN INDIA: The India market continues to evolve at lightening speed across all verticals with investments, acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, partnerships and beyond. A&R Worldwide has learned that one of India and SE Asia’s largest music company’s is on the cusp of acquiring one of the most influential talent management companies in the region. The acquisition will undoubtedly give the major label even greater leverage and opportunity in one of the world’s most rapidly growing economies and music markets.

ORDERING A NEW JOB: A&R Worldwide has learned the Paul Eastwood – formerly Vice President, Marketing & Promotion, Universal Music Canada has been hired by the new social NFT marketplace Orderinbox. Eastwood joins Orderinbox from Gigr Entertainment & Technology where he was Head of Marketing & Business Development, directing the NFT start-up’s client and investor acquisition activities in addition to its branding, content, and communications strategies. The Orderinbox platform officially launches on May 9th, and Eastwood will take on the new role as Vice President, Sports & Entertainment within the Canadian-based company. During his time with Universal, Eastwood oversaw the marketing strategies for a roster of international artists including 50 Cent, The Black Eyed Peas, Sheryl Crow, Eminem, Enrique Iglesias, No Doubt, Sting, and The Tragically Hip.

GOING PAST THE ROBLOX: As announced last week, Jon Vlassopulos, Global Head of Music, Roblox announced his departure from the burgeoning online gaming platform that allows users to program games and play games created by other users. However, he will stay on board with Roblox to help continue to execute on their music strategy. During his tenure at the company, Vlassopulos helped the company secure deals with BMG, Insomniac, Sony Music Entertainment, Grammy’s, and numerous others. In fact, just a few weeks ago Sat Bisla, President & Founder, A&R Worldwide sat down with Vlassopulos for an in-depth conversation during this year’s Grammy’s in Las Vegas about music, gaming and beyond. A&R Worldwide understands that Vlassopulos will be announcing his new position with a technology-based platform in the near future.

LINKIN’ A NEW ROLE WITH WARNER’S: Warner Recorded Music (WRM) has enlisted Linkin Park co-founder and music tech pioneer Mike Shinoda as Community Innovation Advisor. In this first-of-its-kind post, Shinoda will work closely with Warner Music’s leadership and business development teams to help shape the company’s artist-centric approach to Web3. With Shinoda’s support, WRM will continue to partner with artists to bring their creative visions to life and build communities across new platforms, products, and experiences, while exploring new revenue streams. From his early days as co-founder, vocalist, and writer-producer with Linkin Park, to blazing new paths on Twitch and in Web3, Shinoda has made a career innovating in music, fan communities, and content. His most recent explorations include “Happy Endings,” the label’s first single to debut as an NFT, and “Ziggurats,” the world’s first generative NFT mixtape—5,000 unique mini-albums created from Shinoda’s original audio and visual layers.

SKY’S THE LIMIT WITH THIS NEW DEAL: Sky Ferreira, the iconic Capitol Records artist has signed with global independent music publisher Third Side Music (TSM) to help propel the next chapter of her career. Ferreira was signed to the exclusive global publishing administration deal by Los Angeles-based Brontë Jane, VP Creative/Director of A&R, Third Side Music. She joins the company’s diverse and eclectic roster, a cadre of rising stars and Grammy-nominated artists, songwriters and composers such as SOFI TUKKER, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Blonde Redhead, Colin Stetson, and BADBADNOTGOOD, who Brontë Jane recently re-signed to the company. Almost a decade since her debut studio album, Night Time, My Time (Capitol), Ferreira has teased that new music is on the horizon, and she is now working closely with Third Side Music, which will represent her new song catalog worldwide, develop collaborations with other artists, songwriters and producers, as well as foster unique opportunities in film, TV, advertising, trailers, games and more. As a songwriter and artist, Ferreira has previously collaborated with heavyweight writers and producers including Greg Kurstin, Billy Steinberg, Ariel Rechtshaid, Bloodshy & Avant, Magnus, Lidehäll, Shirley Manson, Jon Brion, Justin Raisen, Jeremiah Raisen, and others.

IT’S OFFICIALLY IN INK: Ink, a newly founded web3 company, will enable creators to sign or draw on any form of digital content with their finger, and instantly turn that content into an affordable NFT via their exclusive marketplace at Ink.ID. By digitally signing any existing photo, album cover, or social content like and Instagram post, YouTube video, TikTok, Spotify song, tweets on Twitter and more, artists can intuitively and authentically turn any of their existing or future content into digital merchandise that can be bought, traded and resold as financially accessible NFTs. For their initial launch, Ink is partnering with a select group of promising and emerging artists, kicking off with the debut Ink Drop of Lexi Jayde with more to be revealed soon. In addition to the individual artist drops, Ink is also integrating with tours and festivals, where Inks will be the first NFTs fans can buy at physical merch tables.

WALKING THE A&R PLANK: Emerging UK singer/songwriter Charlotte Plank has been racking-up interest from a large number of British labels (both major and independent). With her new single not even out until May 20, the level of interest on Plank is definitely not falling on “dead wood” ears to speak. The young artist is represented by influential UK booking agent and manager Sol Parker. Parker also has a couple of other musical aces up his sleeves with his other two developing acts who are also garnering the attention of the A&R community on both sides of the Atlantic. Maybe it’s time to “better call Sol!”

RISING UP AT CMG: Highly-regarded music executive, Phil Thornton has been appointed Senior Vice President of Capitol Christian Music Group (Capitol CMG). The announcement was made by the company’s co-presidents, Brad O’Donnell and Hudson Plachy. Prior to joining Capitol CMG, Thornton was Senior Vice President/General Manager of RCA Inspiration –the Nashville-based Gospel music label that operates under Sony Music’s Provident Music Group. Among his many recent accomplishments at that label, Thornton signed a deal with Mariah Carey to release her MARIAH imprint. Thornton also served as Vice President and General Manager of Urban Inspirational at eOne Music from 2012 through 2016. In this newly created position based at Capitol CMG’s headquarters in Nashville, Thornton will focus on touring partnerships on behalf of Capitol CMG artists.

READY FOR A NEW FIGHT: Warner Chappell Music and The Fight Club have announced a joint venture. The Fight Club is a South London-based management agency, consultancy and record label that was founded by Samuel Ademosu with an objective to lead a new generation of Black music. The new joint venture will see Warner Chappell Music handle the publishing for all of the Fight Club’s roster which includes artists, songwriters and producers such as AJ Productions, TSB, P2J, Aseven, Lola Rae, and others. The Fight Club clients have written and produced tracks for artists such as Beyoncé, Wizkid, Doja Cat, Lily Allen, Zayn and more.

SPOTIFY ADDS MORE BLOGIFY: Spotify has launched a new blog,“Making Money on Spotify: Loud & Clear, Merch, Ticketing, Fan Support and Future Opportunities,” as the latest addition to its Spotify for Artists masterclass, focusing on opportunities for musicians to profit from the service financially. Camille Hearst, Head of Spotify For Artists, has discussed the many ways that artists can monetize their creativity via merch, ticketing and direct fan support. New products are being tested to help connect artists and fans to generate revenue as well. Spotify has partnered with Shopify to create a virtual merch table for artist’s profiles. Additionally, ticketed events can be promoted on the platform by sharing dates with the service’s ticketing partners. Spotify is currently testing exclusive live audio rooms that will be hosted by artists with the top Spotify fans to celebrate new releases and earn revenue by promoting merch, tickets, and receiving tips and donations all inside the room.

VEGAS GETS READY TO ROCK...AGAIN: The award-winning Raiding The Rock Vault has announced that it will be returning back to Las Vegas at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino joining a lineup of first-class entertainment starting on June 17, 2022. The iconic show which as postponed due to the pandemic was voted “Best of Las Vegas” for consecutive years from 2014 –2021 by readers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and has consistently been a top-ranked show on TripAdvisor. Raiding the Rock Vault tells the story of classic rock from the 1960s to the 1980s and is performed by members of some of the greatest rock bands in history. Some of the featured musicians include guitarist Howard Leese (Heart, Bad Company) , bassist Hugh McDonald (Bon Jovi) , vocalist Cian Coey (Meat Loaf, Dweezil Zappa) , drummer Blas Elias (Slaughter, Trans-Siberian Orchestra) , drummer Jay Schellen (Yes, Asia, Badfinger) , guitarist Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake, Dio, The Dead Daisies) and many others. The production brings the history of rock ‘n’ roll to life, featuring classic anthems by the biggest acts in music, including The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Free, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Aerosmith, Van Halen, AC/DC, Journey, and more.

HEADING TO VENICE: Music and technology firm Venice Music, has announced that Ankur Patel has joined its team as Chief Business Officer. Under his new role Patel will focus on elevating the company’s growth and strategy as it drives itself towards a new model for the independent music ecosystem. Most recently, Patel was a key executive at the music technology company Splice, whereas he served as Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, and oversaw commercial partnerships, internal strategy and M&A. Whilst at the company he helped secure multiple acquisitions and partnerships including with the likes of TikTok, Soundtrap (owned by Spotify), Adobe, as well as bringing in music catalogs, onboarding in-house creators and technology entrepreneurs to Splice’s tech portfolio and subscription business. Venice Music is co-founded by renowned music and pop cultural entrepreneurs Troy Carter and Suzy Ryoo.

SPREADING THEIR POLLEN: Pollen, a London-based music, travel, and experiences company founded by Callum and Liam Negus-Fancey, has announced that it has raised $150 million (USD) in a Series C round after raising over $100 million in VC funding from investors such as Northzone, Sienna Capital, Kindred, Backed and Draper Spirit. This news comes after the 2021 hiring of both Zeon Richards as Head of Hip Hop Partnerships and Christine Osazuwa as Strategy Director for Pollen Presents. The latest funding announcement includes backers Kindred, Lansdowne Partners, Northzone, Sienna Capital, Backed and Molton Ventures. Pollen has created exclusive travel experiences featuring artists such as J Balvin, Justin Bieber and Duran Duran and has worked with promoter brands and music festivals like Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, Live Nation amongst others.

SUPPORTING MUSIC & ARTS: Universal Music Group (UMG), recently unveiled its support for the statewide ballot initiative to increase funding for California public schools’ arts and music education proposed by Californians for Arts and Music Education in Public Schools. The Arts and Music in Schools measure, which is expected to be considered on the November 2022 ballot, will provide almost $900 million (USD) in additional funding each year for arts and music education in every PreK-12 public school in California –without increasing taxes. Funding, which will come from existing state revenues and budget surplus, will be used for a wide range of arts and music education, including traditional music, visual arts and performing arts, computer graphics, animation, coding and costume design. Additional funds will be provided to schools that serve students from low-income families. In order to qualify the initiative for the November 2022 ballot, Californians for Arts and Music Education in Public Schools must collect 623,212 valid signatures from registered voters before June 30, 2022. DOWN TO THE LIMEWIRE: The digital file-sharing company LimeWire, which is run by brothers and co-CEO’s Julian and Paul Zehetmayr, has announced that it has raised $10.4 million (USD) in a private sale of its LMWR token. The new round of funding was spearheaded by Arrington Capital, GSR and Kraken Ventures. LimeWire says that it has onboarded strategic investors with “strong networks in the crypto space”, which the company says will help its marketplace and token ecosystem grow at a more rapid pace. The company will initiate its official launch campaign later this year and aims to open up its digital collectibles marketplace shortly thereafter. The company has been onboarding emerging artists with robust fanbases in recent months with the objective to have at least 100 acts secured in the coming weeks, as well as securing deals with established acts with a goal to have over one million new users by the end of this year. Holders of LMWR tokens will be able to participate in its token rewards program, minimize trading fees on their platform and have access to regular community perks and LimeWire events. Part of the new funds will be utilized to extend new partnerships as well grow its global team. Additional funding for LimeWire has also come from Crypto.com Capital, Hivemind, Red Beard Ventures, CMCC Global, Hard Yaka, FiveT, 720Mau5 (a fund behind Canadian music producer Deadmau5), DAO Jones, a coalition of investors that includes electronic DJ Steve Aoki and high-profile members from the music industry.

ELEVATION IN SE EUROPE: Warner Music has announced that Izabela Ciszek-Podziemska has been promoted into the newly created position of General Manager of Warner Music South-East Europe. In this role, she will be responsible for overseeing the company’s operations in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia. She will report into Alfonso Perez-Soto, President of Emerging Markets, Warner Recorded Music. Ciszek-Podziemska previously held the role of Head of Business Development, South-East Europe at Warner Music, and has been responsible for securing exclusive licensing and distribution deals with a number of leading music companies in the region. Through one of these partnerships, with Romanian independent label Global Records, Warner Music was able to sign and upstream local popstar Minelli. As part of Warner Music’s international network, Minelli enjoyed a global hit with her track “Rampampam,” which has more than 60 million streams on Spotify and almost 200 million views on YouTube.

KEEPING IT IN THE FAMILY: Having already unveiled a suite of these tools earlier this year, Family In Music (a music creator platform housing a set of digital tools to aid all songwriters, with a particular focus on the DIY creator) have revealed the latest addition –the Royalty Advance tool, powered by chordCash from beatBread. When a songwriter gets an advance through the tool, they retain 100% ownership of their masters and receive the majority share of royalties in contrast to the 80% split that record labels tend to take. From the beginning, the artist is in control and can tailor the deal to their specific needs, investing in their career and building long term and sustainable relationships with their fans. The Finland-headquartered start-up was founded by Finnish music industry entrepreneur and Executive Chairman, Juka Hynynen. Th award winning producer and entrepreneur Kevin Bacon is the company’s Chief Innovation Officer.

A UNIVERSAL ROLE: Universal Production Music has appointed Jane Carter as its new President. Based in London, Carter will report to Jody Gerson, Chairman & CEO, Universal Music Publishing Group. Carter’s new role will have her overseeing the entirety of Universal Production Music and its related entities worldwide to lead the company’s innovation and production music growth strategy. In her previous role as Managing Director in the UK for Universal Production Music, Carter led production music growth strategy, broadcast partnerships and client relations. Carter has also served as business manager and executive producer for film composer George Fenton, managing his publishing catalogue and live event portfolio. This new promotion at Universal Music Publishing Group marks Jane Carter as the first woman to lead global production at a major music publishing company.

BETTER LATE THAN NEVER: Long established UK indie label Cooking Vinyl have announced that they have concluded a deal with the 90s indie band Symposium that will see their recordings released on streaming services for the first time. The band had hits with songs that included “Fairweather Friend,” “Farewell To Twilight” and “The Answer To Why I Hate You,” as well as their newly discovered song called “Bleach.” There are also plans to release a “Best Of,” consisting of the band’s two original albums and restored promo videos. The band’s core members are announcing their return with a Q&A launch event in May hosted by their long-time fan Phil Alexander, which will be followed by a number of intimate live shows.

CREATIVE ELEVATION AT SONY MUSIC PUB: Sony Music Publishing (SMP) today announced the promotion of Nick Bral to Vice President, Creative. Bral will be responsible for managing songwriter relations and fostering creative collaboration on behalf of the company’s US roster. He will also continue to advance songwriter discovery and development efforts. Based in Los Angeles, he reports directly to Jennifer Knoepfle, Sr. Vice President Creative. Bral works closely with top talent across Sony Music Publishing’s roster including Dan Nigro, who he helped sign to the company in 2018 with Jennifer Knoepfle. Nigro recently achieved international acclaim for his collaborations with Olivia Rodrigo on her debut album SOUR including the singles “drivers license,” “good 4 u” and more. Bral launched his A&R career at SMP over nine years ago, beginning as an A&R assistant for Knoepfle and Amanda Hill, Sr. VP Creative in 2013. Since joining the company, he has signed key talent including Conan Gray, known for his viral hit “Heather,” and works closely with hitmakers such as Wallows, Rob Bisel, Mike Sabath, Gus Dapperton, and Lindgren, among many others.

LIVE NATION EXPANDS IN SE ASIA: The world’s largest concert promoter Live Nation has expanded into the Philippines thanks to its acquisition of the Manilla-based promoter, Music Management International (MMI). Live Nation and MMI had originally started working together to promote concerts in the Philippines back in 2014, whereas MMI (formed two decades ago) has hosted concerts for Coldplay, Bruno Mars, U2, Madonna and many others in the marketplace. As part of the acquisition, Rhiza Pascua who has been leading MMI has been named Managing Director, Live Nation, Philippines and will be based out of the company’s headquarters in Manilla. Live Nation’s revenue in 2021 exceeded over $6.3 billion (USD) and will increase upon that substantially in 2022 thanks to live events reopening since the pandemic. A&R Worldwide understands that this is just one of a number of other acquisitions that Live Nation aims to target in the Asia, SE Asia marketplace in the foreseeable future.
