Concord Music Publishing recently announced the signing of billion streamed Afrobeats icon Davido. The award-winning American-born Nigerian global superstar joined the roster through a new creative partnership with Koch Okoye and Saheed Okunnu’s Immensum Music. This new joint venture expands Concord’s roster into artists and songwriters from West Africa and abroad.
Born in Atlanta and raised in Nigeria, Davido has amassed over two billion in streams and a powerful 50 million social media footprint. The global award-winning artist continues to grow his fanbase around the world and remains the first solo African artist to sell out a major concert venue in Europe, a feat which he repeated in 2022 with his sold-out performance at London’s 02 arena. An acclaimed songwriter and producer, Davido, who grew up in Nigeria, has spearheaded a worldwide Afrobeats revolution with smash hits like “Fall” and “If.” Cited as one of the Top 100 most influential Africans by New African Magazine, Davido is notably referred to as ‘The king of modern-day afrobeats’.

Recently handpicked by FIFA to lead their 2022 World Cup Soundtrack collaboration “Hayya Hayya (Better Together),” Davido’s videos have been viewed more than one billion times. A global artist, Davido has appeared on magazine covers around the world including Billboard, L’Officiel, Flaunt, Dazed and numerous television appearances including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah and Jimmy Kimmel Live! to name a few. Davido has new music and touring coming 2022.


Warner Music China announced today that Miriam Yeung, one of Greater China’s biggest stars, has joined its roster. Miriam has an impressive music career spanning nearly three decades. She is one of the region’s most recognized and accomplished recording artists, having released more than 50 albums earning her numerous top female artist awards throughout the years.
As well as being a successful singer, Miriam has also been active in the film and television industries. She has starred in over 40 films and 10 television drama series. Her outstanding performances have enabled her to sweep multiple accolades including Best Actress at many of the region’s most prestigious awards.

Miriam began her career in the entertainment industry in 1995 after coming third in the 14th annual New Talent Singing Awards Competition co-organized by Hong Kong television broadcaster TVB and Capital Artists record company. She has toured extensively over the years and held concerts in markets including Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore and the US. Some of her most popular chart-topping hits include “Teenage Girl’s Prayer,” “Sister,” “Unfortunately I’m an Aquarius,” and “Small City, Big Things.”

Miriam is also well known for her philanthropic endeavors where she uses her music and influence to support social causes. She was a recipient of the “Ten Outstanding Young Persons” and “Asian Women Leadership Awards” in Hong Kong, and has been appointed as ambassadors of many charities including Otic Foundation, Po Leung Kuk, Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, UNAIDS, UNICEF, World Vision and many others.

Warner Music will be working with Miriam on a wide range of opportunities and will be focusing particularly on music related projects including new albums, audio-visual works, live entertainment shows, concerts and merchandise.

This news follows Warner Music China’s recent signing of legendary mandopop artist CoCo Lee last month, further strengthening its influential roster.


Brandon Silverstein, Founder, S10 Entertainment has inked a new partnership for his S10 Films division with Simon Fuller, Founder, XIX Entertainment, and brainchild of the global Idol music TV show franchise The new partnership will provide S10 Entertainment’s management and artist clients access to film and television opportunities with Fuller’s company. S10 Films says it already has several scripted and un-scripted projects in the works across television, documentary, and audio mediums.

Silverstein is the manager of international act Normani and Anitta and his S10 Publishing (which has a multi-year joint venture deal with Japan’s Avex USA) firm is the publisher for songs for artists including Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Selena Gomez, The Kid LAROI, Rihanna, DJ Snake, and Bad Bunny.

The new partnership will build a bridge between Silverstein and Fuller, who will develop new entertainment content together across various multimedia platforms including film and TV. Fuller who recently teamed-up with Bytedance (the parent company of TikTok) is currently seeking to unearth new manufactured global superstars on the global platform. With TikTok’s new worldwide job postings for A&R executives things seem to be aligning for all parties involved in this new venture. Fuller already teamed up with TikTok for the unveiling of The Future X (signed to Columbia Records) earlier this year, which features singers and dancers all discovered on TikTok.

BMG is ramping up the development of new stage musicals in both the U.S., with its first production Punk Rock Girl!, and in Germany, following the wildly successful run of its first musical Ku’damm 56.
Punk Rock Girl!
Punk Rock Girl! is the debut developmental theatrical production from BMG in the US in partnership with NY-based theatrical company Lively McCabe Entertainment. It features a score of popular songs written and made famous by female artists and female-fronted bands from the BMG catalog including Blondie, P!nk, Avril Lavigne, Pat Benatar, Sleater-Kinney, in addition to the title song, ‘Punk Rock Girl’ by the Dead Milkmen. The musical will be marketed to high schools, community, and regional professional theaters, with a film adaptation in the works.

Concord Theatricals will serve as the exclusive distributor and selling agent of the production, as well as handle all sales, marketing and licensing efforts throughout the U.S.

Three additional upcoming musicals from BMG and Lively McCabe include May We All, the Country music-themed production in partnership with superstar duo Florida Georgia Line opening in Nashville this June, as well as a New Wave-themed musical, and a Holiday-themed musical, with several more BMG productions in early stages of development.

Concurrently, moving from the American heartland to the European cultural capital of Berlin, BMG in Germany has a resounding hit on its hands with its musical production of Ku’damm 56 which has had its initial run extended following more than 100 performances, selling over 120,000 tickets.


Reservoir Media, Inc., in conjunction with PopArabia, a leading music publisher and independent music company in the Middle East and North Africa, has announced two new deals as the Company continues to execute on its emerging markets growth strategy.
Mohamed Ramadan
The deals include the signing of Egyptian rapper and singer Mohamed Ramadan to a worldwide publishing deal, which includes hits from his catalog and future releases. Reservoir and PopArabia separately announced the acquisition of Egyptian label 100COPIES, as well as a joint venture with the company to sign and develop Egyptian talent.

Considered a household name in the MENA region, Ramadan is an accomplished film actor and a bona fide musical star. In 2019, he was crowned the Most Popular Artist in Africa by AFRIMA (the All-Africa Music Awards). He boasts over 20 million followers on Instagram and millions more on other social media platforms.

To date, Ramadan has amassed over 4.65 billion views on YouTube. An early champion of Mahraganat, the uniquely Egyptian musical genre that originally emerged in 2011, 100COPIES was founded in 2006 by Cairo-based producer Mahmoud Refaat.

The two Egyptian-based deals further diversify Reservoir and PopArabia’s robust efforts in the region.

MOVING UP AT BMG: BMG has announced the promotion of Dominique Casimir to Chief Content Officer. The long-time BMG executive, who first joined the company in 2008, will now join the BMG board charged with representing the company’s repertoire interests. Currently Executive VP Repertoire & Marketing EU, APAC & LATAM, and with global responsibility for Synch and Corporate Responsibility, Berlin-based Casimir will additionally take on responsibility for UK repertoire, with Alistair Norbury, President Repertoire & Marketing UK, reporting to her. It means she will have direct responsibility for BMG’s repertoire operations in 16 territories accounting for around half of the company’s revenues. This will rise to 17 in June with the opening of a new office in Mexico City. BMG’s U.S. repertoire teams will continue to report directly to CEO Hartwig Masuch, as will Berlin-based Casimir. Casimir joined BMG in 2008, playing an important role in developing the blueprint for BMG’s artist-friendly recordings business and building its European marketing team. After a successful period as Sr. VP International Coordination & Music Supervision, she was promoted to BMG Managing Director GSA at the end of 2016. She was promoted to Executive VP Repertoire & Marketing Continental Europe in early 2019, adding Asia Pacific and Latin America in late 2020 and BMG’s global synch operation in 2021. Under her leadership, BMG has grown its Continental Europe business by a third, expanded into live music in Germany, and developed BMG’s first stage musical, Ku’damm 56.

SIGNING A GLOBAL DEAL: Warner Chappell Music (WCM) has signed a worldwide publishing deal with 21-year-old superstar singer/songwriter Natanael Cano – who also releases music under Warner Music Latina / Rancho Humilde and his label Los CT. Known as the pioneer of the highly popular corridos tumbados movement (a unique blend of Mexican corridos with American trap music), Cano reached new heights in 2019 when he collaborated with global Latin superstar Bad Bunny on the 4x multi-platinum single “Soy El Diablo (Remix).” Last month, Cano took the stage at Coachella for the very first time as one of the festival’s lead Latin acts, where he debuted songs from his critically acclaimed new album, NataKong, which features his signature mix of corridos tumbados and trap. The album recently earned him his first top 10 hit on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Albums chart.

TU HAI MERA (YOU ARE MINE): One of Bollywood’s biggest superstars Madhuri Dixit (with well over 100 million social media followers across all platforms) recorded her first-ever English language EP a few years ago with the A&R oversight of A&R Worldwide Founder Sat Bisla. Dixit has just released a brand new single called “Tu Hai Mera,” to coincide with her birthday which was on May 15. Her debut single “Candle”(released in 2020) racked-up over one billion views on TikTok in just a matter of weeks in India. The EP was written in collaboration with artist and songwriter Raja Kumari along with Finnish/Punjabi producer/songwriter Narinder Singh whom Bisla recommended for the project. The actress, singer, dancer and influencer is considered a global icon by the Indian and non-Indian pop cultural community and is married to highly-respected doctor and businessman Dr. Shriram Nene. The video for the new single and India and international marketing for the track has been spearheaded by Tarsame Mittal, who is one of India’s most influential artist managers.

AN A&R ELEVATION: Cristina Chavez has joined Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) as Vice President, A&R. She will be based in Santa Monica where she will report to David Gray, Executive Vice President and Head of U.S. A&R at UMPG. In her new role as Vice President, A&R, which is effective immediately, Chavez will work closely with UMPG’s existing roster of songwriters as well as identifying and signing new talent to the company. Chavez previously worked at Hallwood Media, a producer/songwriter management company, as its Sr. Vice President of A&R and Management before joining UMPG. Chavez’s new role is the latest in a series of new A&R appointments at UMPG in recent months.

A PROLIFIC ASIA EXPANSION: The fast-expanding music publishing company Prolific Songs has announced their further expansion into Southeast Asia, with Charles Tan joining the team as Head of Creative & Sync. Charles will join Prolific’s Head of Business Development, Roo Pigott, in the Singapore office. Charles brings a wealth of industry experience as both a creative and music publisher and has worked across multiple projects and syncs with MediaCorp, HBO Max, CW Network, and Warner Brothers Pictures. His appointment spearheads a planned expansion into multiple territories, and a deeper dive into the possibilities of the Prolific catalog.

SAFER SPACES: More than 100 UK festivals have committed to the Association of Independent Festivals’ (AIF) Safer Spaces At Festivals campaign, which is aimed at tackling sexual violence at festivals and has been relaunched today to address the issue in 2022 and beyond. Originally launched in May 2017, the initiative today sees festivals commit to an updated charter of best practice developed with input and guidance from experts at Rape Crisis England And Wales, Good Night Out, Safe Gigs For Women, Girls Against and UN Women. Festival organizers are reiterating their commitment to delivering a safe environment for audiences, performers, the workforce and to taking a survivor-led approach underpinned by policies, procedures, and training. The Charter states that all allegations of sexual harassment, assault and violence will be taken seriously, acted upon promptly and investigated. This is supplemented by a commitment to clear, robust reporting and disclosure procedures, including how to report incidents onsite and post event. Festival policies will include relevant health guidance and connections to local services, and the campaign will feature advice on how to be an active bystander including the ‘5 D’s’ of Bystander Intervention devised by Right To Be (Direct, Delegate, Distract, Document and Delay). Participating festivals will share key messages on social media across a 24-hour period from 9AM today (Monday 16th May) and will also display key messages onsite this summer at events. There will also be a resource hub linking to all partner organizations, up-to-date advice, guidance and best practice examples of what festivals are doing on the ground.

A BIG ASS DEAL: Big.Ass.Kids (B.A.K), and independent creative agency and record label has signed an exclusive joint venture and global distribution deal with ADA Worldwide, which is Warner Music Group’s label and artist services arm. The first project to be released under the new partnership is SEE YOU NEXT YEAR, which is in collaboration with music platform Pigeons & Planes (a part of Complex Network), and will be a yearly annual emerging artist platform and multi-faceted campaign. B.A.K, will be anchored by a compilation album featuring ten exclusive songs, which will be executive produced by multi-Grammy award-winning producer and engineer Mike Dean (Jay-Z, Beyonce, Drake, Kanye West, Lana Del Rey, The Weeknd, Kid Cudi and more). B.A.K was founded by music business veteran le’Roy Benros last year; he initially formalized a deal with Pigeons & Planes in 2021 along with FAE Grp. However, Benros initially partnered with Sarah Stennett, CEO & Founder, FAE Grp when the company was first known as Turn First with Benros’ former label Noizy Cricket!!, and he was named Vice President of A&R for FAE Grp in 2017. Former Universal Group Head of Label Operations & Brand Partnerships, Carolyn Ortiz has joined B.A.K and will help expand its business development and marketing strategies.

BRINGING KROQ BACK TO LIFE: Kevin Weatherly, long time programmer of what was one of the world’s most influential radio stations under his leadership - KROQ Los Angeles will be returning to the station as Sr. Vice President Programming effective June 6th. Weatherly first joined KROQ in 1992, where he spent almost 30 years, before joining Spotify as its Head of North American Programming in 2020. In his new role Weatherly will serve as Vice President for Audacy (who own KROQ) and the company’s Alternative stations across the U.S. Additionally, Weatherly will oversee KROQ’s content strategy, talent, operations, and branding. Weatherly helped evolve KROQ into one of the top alternative stations and radio brands in the world and was also instrumental in breaking many of the world’s top acts including Weezer, The Offspring, No Doubt, blink-182, Nirvana, Muse, Imagine Dragons, Sublime and many others.

PARTNERING UP WITH THREE SIX ZERO: Management company Three Six Zero has inked a partnership with New-York based talent company Frontline Entertainment. Headed up by Craig Dorfman, Frontline Entertainment will join Three Six Zero’s growing international management and entertainment division. Dorfman will bring his clients and management team in-hose and will take a partner position at the company. Frontline Entertainment was formed in 2000 and represents Joshua Malina (The West Wing, The Big Bang Theory), Lorraine Toussaint (Orange Is The New Black), Sarah Power (The Good Witch), and others.

TAKING ON A NEW A&R ROLE: Chris Blackwell has been promoted to Executive VP of A&R and Content Strategy for Republic Records. Until recently, Blackwell served as Sr. Vice President of Creative Content & Development for the company after being brought in (personally) by Monte Lipman, Co-Founder & Chief Executive, Republic Records. Based in Los Angeles, Blackwell’s new role will consist of continuing to guide the creation and development of content for the entire Republic Records roster, as well as working with new artists to identify and maximize content opportunities. Blackwell was named among Billboard’s annual R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players in 2020. Blackwell’s promotion is the latest in a number of executive hires and promotions at Republic Records.

DISTILLING WITH DOWNTOWN: London based independent music company Distiller Music Group has announced a new agreement for its music publishing division with Downtown Music Services. This new global deal will see Downtown Music Services providing music publishing administration for Distiller Music Publishing’s growing roster of songwriters and producers, which includes the likes of Dimitri Tikovoi (Purple Disco Machine, Charli XCX, MNEK, Becky Hill, Blondie, Sophie and the Giants), Danny LaFrombe (John legend), Danny Goffey (Supergrass) and The Ramona Flowers (Nile Rogers) . In addition, Claire Bianchi has joined Distiller Publishing as Head of A&R. Reporting to Distiller Music Group CEO Sam Dyson, Claire will be based in London, England and her appointment is effective immediately.

TICKING THEIR A&R BOXES: Following the launch of TikTok’s distribution and artist development platform SoundOn, which was launched in March of this year, ByteDance (owner of TikTok) has expanded its search to hire a slew of new and experienced A&R executives in various markets worldwide including Jakarta (Indonesia), London (England), Los Angeles (U.S.) and Sao Paulo (Brazil). The A&R job search specifies that the new A&R Manager role for its London office will be for its new TuneCore-powered SoundOn distribution platform. Whilst it's Los Angeles focused A&R role will seek an A&R Manager who can “identify, sign, manage, and develop new artists across genres.” The speculation on the new hires suggests the possibility that TikTok will develop a brand new “label style” business which will allow it to invest and own both master and publishing rights, and monetize more broadly from its ownership of these rights by exploiting them on its global platform.

EXCELERATING WITH MOM+POP: Leading independent record label mom+pop music and Exceleration Music, the venture which focuses on investing into independent labels and artists, have agreed to a strategic financial alliance. The agreement provides mom+pop with the ability to rapidly expand its scope of operations, including new signings. Exceleration has made an investment in mom+pop’s catalog and will be providing resources to help supercharge the label’s exciting new release program. The relationship with Exceleration will provide the opportunity for burgeoning indie label to retain its independence and further expand their scope of operations, including providing financing structures that will allow expansion with new artist signings, catalog and growth of services. mom+pop music will continue to be solely owned and operated by partners Michael Goldstone and Thaddeus Rudd.

SEEING PROMOTIONS AT CAA: Creative Artists Agency (CAA) has announced the promotions of Jacob Lapidus and Daniel Rais to the roles of agents in its global music touring sector. Daniel Rais who is based in London, England first joined CAA as an assistant in 2017. He’s since worked on brand partnerships and event bookings for artists such as David Guetta, Tems, and Charli XCX. Jacob Lapidus is based in Nashville, TN and joined the company in 2016 as an assistant. He works with Moon Taxi, The 502s, STS9, Charley Crockett, Wilder Woods, and others.

JOINING WMG’S DEI IN ASIA: Stef Teng has been appointed to the newly created role of Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), Asia, at Warner Music Group (WMG). She will be based in Hong Kong and report to Dr Maurice Stinnett, WMG’s Global Head of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Teng’s appointment comes at a time when WMG is deepening its commitment to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for its artists, songwriters and people. She will work closely with WMG’s recorded music and publishing territory heads across Asia, as well as its People Team and Employee Resource Groups in the region. Teng joins from Manulife, where she led on developing its Asian regional DEI strategy and shaping policies to promote diversity, equity and inclusion practices within the organization.

SIGNING A GLOBAL PUBLISHING DEAL: Sony Music Publishing has announced that it has signed a global deal with award-winning songwriter Ashley Gorley, in partnership with Domain Capital Group. The agreement encompasses Gorley’s complete catalog of songs, as well as future compositions. Ashley Gorley is widely recognized for his extensive and successful songwriting career across country, pop and more – he has written a record 59 No.1 singles and has had over 400 songs released by artists such as Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, Blake Shelton, Dan + Shay, Kelsea Ballerini, Cole Swindell, Bon Jovi, Weezer, and more. His recent hits include “You Should Probably Leave” by Chris Stapleton, “Sand In My Boots” by Morgan Wallen, and “What’s Your Country Song” by Thomas Rhett. Gorley has been honored as ASCAP “Songwriter of The Year” eight times. He is a five-time Billboard “Top Country Songwriter,” and five-time NSAI “Songwriter of The Year.” He also has multiple GRAMMY, CMA, and ACM nominations.

AN NFT KINGSHIP: KINGSHIP, the supergroup signed to 10:22PM, will release a collection of 10,000 access-enabled Key Cards in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that will allow collectors to access the group’s virtual world as well as unlock music, products, experiences and a token-gated community. Key Cards were made available to mint in waves on Saturday, May 14, for those who registered on the ALLOWLIST and today for the general public. KINGSHIP consists of three rare Bored Apes and a rare Mutant Ape: Captain (vocals, bass), KING (lead vocals), Arnell (beats, producer, drums) and Hud (guitar, keyboards, vocals). The group’s newly revealed origin story and additional Key Card details are available on the group’s website, Discord and Twitter.

MAKING BIGGER NOIZE: Independent music companies Big Machine Label Group and Blac Noize! have unveiled a new partnership, whereas the two companies will expand into new genres, and also focus on signing more Hip-Hop and R&B acts. The companies say that the collaboration will create an infrastructure that allows the companies to be more competitive with major labels. Big Machine and Blac Noize! have already signed Hitkidd & Glorilla with the release of “FNF (Let’s Go),” which has millions of views across TikTok and YouTube, as well as activity across streaming platforms. Blac Noize! Recordings was launched by music marketing agency 740 Project with managing partners Jesse Edwards, Rahim Wright and Charley Greenberg, in partnership with Active Management’s ChiokeStretchMcCoy.

PARTING WAYS: The Kid LAROI has split from Adam Leber’s Rebel Management just seven months after signing with the firm. LAROI was previously managed by Scooter Braun’s SB Projects, home to Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Asher Roth, Black Eyed Peas and Juice WRLD’s Grade A Productions. The Kid LAROI, who is signed to Columbia Records and repped by UTA, rose to fame in 2020 with his hit single, “Without You.” His latest single, “Thousand Miles,” sparked controversy after LAROI posted a TikTok featuring the lyric “Here goes another mistake I know I’m gon’ make,” accompanied by a montage of Scooter Braun. Braun later disputed the feud by confirming via social media that it was only publicity to promote the song. Rebel Management was formed in April 2021 by Adam Leber, whereas he spent six years as a partner in Maverick, which he co-founded in 2014. Rebel’s current roster includes Lil Nas X and Labrinth, amongst others.

OPENING A CREATIVE HUB IN SPAIN: Warner Music Spain and Warner Chappell Music last week officially inaugurated The Music Station, their new creative hub in Madrid, Spain. Aimed at artists, songwriters, producers, managers and the wider creative sector, it is located in the former Príncipe Pio North Station, and places Madrid and Spain at the center of the international music innovation. The 10,000 square meter facility has involved the restoration of one of the most iconic buildings in the capital and features first-class recording studios with the latest technology including Dolby Atmos® immersive sound. REVVING UP THEIR RPM IN AUSTRALASIA: ONErpm has unveiled its expansion and presence in Australia and New Zealand. Headquartered for the region in Brisbane, Australia, ONErpm has announced that Rick Butterworth will be the company’s Director of Business Development for Australia, New Zealand, and Southeast Asia. Butterworth will lead regional business development for the U.S. music business solutions provider and will report to Emannuel Zunz, CEO, ONErpm. Butterworth most recently served as label and business development manager, and consultant for the Los Angeles-based Ingrooves Music Group, and brings experience in international and digital marketing. During his over eight years at Ingrooves, Butterworth signed and worked with EDM label OneLove, and previously founded and operated Stubble Records and Dinner With Wolves. ONErpm is a music distribution and label services firm that was founded in 2010, and currently operates 26 offices and studios across 16 countries.

MORE PODCAST SALES: Sony Music Entertainment’s (SME) Global Podcast Division has announced new executive hires that will lead the division’s advertising sales business, including seasoned media sales executive Nick Southwell-Keely, who has joined the Company as Vice President of Podcast Advertising Sales. Southwell-Keely will be based in New York and his role will focus on building the division’s advertising revenue and developing strong relationships with a range of brands, agencies, and ad-sales partners. He will also lead and execute innovative ad campaigns in collaboration with content partners and producers to continue growing the business globally. In addition to Southwell-Keely, Steph Beran-Sanderson will join the Company as the new Head of Branded Podcasts in the US and Brett Schreiber recently joined as Account Executive, Podcast Ad Sales.
